Lindsey & Brady

This week Devon and I went to visit Lindsey and her new baby, Brady. Brady was born January 14, 2009. He is so cute!! It has been a fun week for me meeting all of my friends new babies. Now it's the countdown until I can hold my own ;)

Valentine's Dinner

Valentine's was a lot of fun this year. Our friends Jennifer and David hosted a "murder mystery dinner" at their house. Everyone had to dress up and play their part the whole night...even during dinner. There were 3 rounds of clues that we were given throughout the night so that by the end of our dessert we had a chance to take a guess on who was the murder. Jennifer did such a good job with the whole thing from the decorations to the wonderful dinner! Matt was acting as a sophisticated artist "Sketch Bookman" who's mood would change at anytime. I was acting as Jennifer's secretary "Ivana" who was single and liked to disco dance! Ha! My goal of the night was to hit on Matt...that was not hard! ;)

A glimpse of our Canada Trip!

We had a blast on our "babymoon"! We left Thursday morning and flew to Seattle. We then hopped in a rental car and drove to Vancouver B.C. Vancouver is much like New York in the fact that it's a fast pace city with people walking everywhere and taking taxi's for transportation. I swear there was a Starbucks on every corner!! We did a lot of walking downtown just site seeing.

We came across the 2010 Winter Olympics Countdown!

The white building behind my right side is a HUGE Sears department store! After a day spent in Vancouver we were ready to head to Victoria! We had to take a ferry across to get to the island. Victoria is such a pretty and laid back city. I am sure the Spring and Summer's here are absolutley beautiful!

Right outside the Royal Museum...can you find me? Ha!

The Fairmont Empress...we stayed here on my birthday night. Because they knew it was my birthday and our "baby moon", we were upgraded to a suite, received a free dessert and a wonderful breakfast! Every time we stay at a Fairmont hotel we have nothing but superior service!

Beacon Hill Park in Victoria
There were Seagulls and Ducks EVERYWHERE!

I am 24 weeks in this picture and in this picture I am trying to avoid the hungry ducks! A lady from Kansas drove up with some barley and all the ducks jumped out of the pond as fast as they could! As soon as a dog walked by they all flew away.

The moon at 7:00am...this is looking out our hotel room at the Fairmont.
We ate at a lot of cool places and did lots of shopping! Being 24 weeks pregnant I would say I was a trooper because we probably walked at least 2 to 3 miles a day!

23rd week baby update!

I had my doctor's appointment today and it went very well. He went over the sonogram results with me that we had done last month. He said that the baby looks very good and is growing in the 50th percentile. (I guess when I start going to pediatrician appointments this number will make more sense to me)! He was so funny b/c he said "and I see here that you want to keep the baby's sex a secret so I will just say that the abdomen area is developing just fine". He measured my belly and said I was still right on target for my due date. The baby's heartbeat ranged from 165-144...so all of you that think you can tell the sex from the heartbeat good luck, it's all a myth! ;) I was very happy to hear that our baby is growing on schedule and healthy! I did get the clear to fly on Thursday to Canada so be expecting "baby moon" pictures soon!!!

Fort Worth Stockshow and Rodeo

Every year we go to the Fort Worth Stockshow and Rodeo as a family. We walk through the barns so that the kids can see the animals and then we head to the Rodeo. Below are some highlights of the night...

This goat really wanted Matt to pet him. I found out that they put the muzzles on the goats so that they won't chew the shavings on the floor or chew up their blankets before they are shown. If they eat that stuff they will get really bloated and just look fat. So it's not to be mean it helps them stay healthy ;)

Below is a Mommy Pig and her pigglets. Doesn't she look miserable!!?? It took her at least a minute to lay down on the ground so that she could nurse her little ones.
