Telluride Part 3- the Snow!

We skied 2 days while we were in Telluride. The first day was so much fun. The sun was out, it wasn't too crowded and the slopes had fresh powder. The second day however was a different story. It was like a blizzard outside!! The greens had mogules on them because so much snow was falling at once, when you went fast it felt like glass hitting you in the face and one lift was shut down because of a whiteout. It was crazy!! Needless to say we cut that day short. After all that snow fell it created fun snowball fights!

Trevor waiting to catch them! He was waist deep in snow!

Cheese! Parker missed out on this picture because he was napping ;(

Telluride Part 2-Christmas

Every year the cousins dress alike in their p.j's. It was so fun to have Parker included this year! He loved being around all the kids.

Aunt Ferhne all got the kids projects for the week. The girls put together a gingerbread house...

and the boys put together a Rice Krispie treat house.
As for the stockings this year Kathy drew my name and Chris drew Matt's name. I bought for Aunt Ferhne and Matt bought for his Dad. We didn't know who drew who until we exchanged...this made it so much fun!

Telluride Part 1-The House

The house we stayed in was called Adams Ranch. It was just the right size to accommodate our family of 16! It was about a 5 minute drive to the slopes and to the gondola which would take you downtown.

I took this picture of the back of the house to show you how deep the snow was!!

The living room where we celebrated Christmas. This year we exchanged stockings. Everyone picked out a stocking with someones name on it and had all year to stuff it full. I love stockings so this new idea was right up my alley.
The "kids" dining room table where we spent MANY hours playing "Spades"!

Right outside me and Matt's room...can you see the deer?

The porch after it snowed ALL day!

Christmas Day

We left Christmas morning for Telluride Colorado, but we didn't have to go that far to see snow! I had to take a picture waking up to a White Christmas! Although it made our trip a little bit harder it was still beautiful!

Ready for the Cold!

In the car ready to go!

So after an hour of packing up 5 adults and a baby in the car we were on our way. When we hit Wichita Falls the roads were horrible! We were driving on pure ice! I have never seen so many trucks and 18 wheelers stranded on the side of the road. It took us 8 hours just to get to Amarillo!! Good thing we had 4 wheel drive! We had planned on driving all the way to Albuquerque, NM so we kept on going and arrived around 1 a.m.

This is what we were driving through for about 3 hours! Even though we spent most of our Christmas in the car it was a great day...we were on vacation!!! ;)

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve over at my parents house and had such a good time together! We had a bunch of "appetizer" type of foods for dinner so that we didn't have to cook a big meal. After we ate we let Parker open his presents and then the rest of us opened ours. Parker got a lot of cool new toys from his Gramps and Gigi! Santa brought him 3 gifts, a musical table, a fisher price laptop and a toy piano. Needless to say since we have been home he has been very entertained!
Me and my little man on Christmas Eve

Parker and his new recliner...just like his Dada's

As you can see Clint is NOT happy about his gift. You see he REALLY wanted an XBOX360 for Christmas so to throw him off my parents wrapped it up in a blower vac box. It was so funny to see his reaction before and after.

Parker and his Gigi (he was getting really tired at this point)
Our cool gift from my parents...can you see Matt and Cari written over our last name? We love it!

Our first Christmas as a family of 3!

and when we left this is what we found....SNOW!! Our first "white" Christmas!!

7 months...Finally!

It has been FOREVER since I have been able to blog therefore I am so far behind! Parker turned 7 months on December 22nd. Since this day he has changed SO much! First let me share his pictures.
He is into grabbing EVERYTHING in site! As you can see he wouldn't let me take a picture without touching the sign.

He is thinking: "Hmm how can I get this in my mouth?"
My 7 month old
He can now sit up on his own! This stage is so much fun because we can sit in the floor and play with his toys and he can sit up during his bath time. Each day his little voice gets louder and louder as he discovers his vocal cords. Parker can now feed himself Gerber puffs and shredded cheese. He also has developed a temper if he doesn't get his food exactly when he wants it. ;) His nap times have become shorter but still twice a day. I am still breastfeeding him but only in the morning and at night. We put the new big boy car seat in the car and packed up the infant one ;(. It seems that about every 3 months I am packing up clothes and toys that he has outgrown and it makes me very sad. He is just growing so fast!! Sorry it has taken me so long to update my blog...I had all the time in the world to blog in Telluride and I forgot my camera cord.

Yeee Haaaww!!

Aunt Keirstin bought Parker an "early" birthday present this week and I just had to share...

Isn't this the cutest thing you have ever seen??!!!

Parker is all decked out and ready for the Rodeo in January!
