The day finally came July 9th, 2012...the day we were blessed to quit my full time job and become a stay at home Mom. I have dreamed and prayed for this day for a long time. I was so excited to be able to take care of my own children. Be responsible to teach them right from wrong, be on our own schedule, and love on them everyday. We are so happy the Lord answered our prayers for this to happen. Since July I have already seen a huge difference in both boys. They are growing so fast!
Parker is learning so much these days and growing up to be such a sweet, smart little boy. He says to me all the time "Mommy your beautiful, Mommy you will always be in my heart". I could just eat him up! He says "Lasterday" for yesterday, which if you think about it it makes total sense! At night he loves me to sing "Little Horses" everynight. Even if he is asleep when I get home from a meeting he likes me to still sing. He loves to snuggle, and have Mommy scratch his back, arms and head. He takes after his Mamma! He is fully potty trained except naptime and bedtime. We aren't going to rush that process, it will come in due time. He likes to help me cook when I allow it. Very curious in the kitchen. The other night in the bath he asked Pierce "hey do you have these eyeballs in your peepee?" (talking about his testicles). I tried not to laugh outloud and called for their Daddy! :)
Parker still sleeps with 3 of his favorite blankies and still bites the corners. I think this gives him comfort. He likes to "Thank Jesus" everynight for all of our family members and our house, etc. Parker still needs some work on sharing with his little brother but we are working on it.
He can count to 20 sometimes 25. He can spell his name, although we are still working on writing his name. He can recite my phone number and our address, and knows to call 911 for help!
Parker played soccer for the first time this fall and took swim lessons this summer. He liked soccer ok, it just took him awhile to get the hang of it. He was easily distracted by the fans and acorns :). Swim lessons took a few days for him not to cry but did great by the last day. His favorite songs are Call Me Maybe by Carly Ray Jepsen, Honeybee by Blake Shelton, The purple song by Carrie Underwood (it was just the color of the cover in my car), the construction song from VBS, and "I won't give up" by Jason Myraz. Both boys will stop dead in their tracks when any of these songs come on and dance! Oh they both love "dance parties" in Parkers room with glow sticks at night. His favorite show is Team Umizoomi.
Pierce turned 18 months in October. He started walking at 11 months...and hasn't stopped since then. He has a HUGE appetie and can out eat any of us. He loves grapes, cherrios, strawberries, blueberries, hotdogs, nuggets and french fries. He is allergic to eggs and peanut butter. He started his first day of preschool at 18 months. His first teacher was Ms.Christy now it's Ms. Monica. Considering this is his first year and only going one day a week he is doing great! He has finally started talking! He says "Mo" for milk. Pretzels, Mommy, Daddy and a mixture of mommy, daddy for his blankies. Bubba, orange, cheese, bath, no, shakes his head yes, all done, night night, teeth, eyes, nose and book. His favorite songs are ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle little star, You are my Sunshine and Itsy Bitsy Spider. Pierce has had a couple of things happen this year. The first was his hernia surgery. He was really really fussy for months and we didn't know why. One day after my Mary Kay seminar I came home and noticed his "parts" were huge. We quickly went to the ER to get it checked out. They ended up finding a hernia. We had the surgery at Cooks and he did great! He was a total different baby afterwards. In November, he came down with Croup and we ended up in the ER one night. He had to do breathing treatments and take steriods. It was pretty scary. He began to feel better after about 4 days. He loves his Bubba and loves to wrestle, just sometimes they get too rough. His only defense is to bite Parker when his brother is being mean. I try to stop it but then again Parker needs to learn to share. :)
Pierce loves to brush his teeth and carry around his toothbrush. Sometimes this becomes a problem! He has started to show interest in the potty but I think it's just something he wants to copy his big brother on. He sings "Ba Boo Ba" all the time. This is his little song that makes him happy. He LOVES when we sing "Spider" and ask him "Where did the spiders go?" He just laughs!
