Parker is 9 months!!

Parker turned 9 months on Monday the 22ND. He hasn't felt good all week do to his top 2 teeth coming in so we are just now getting around to his monthly pictures. We went to the doctor on Wednesday for his checkup and he did great! He weighs 21 lbs (50%) and is 30 inches(90%) long. We are hoping he is going to be tall!!

Things Parker is doing/likes/dislikes:

He is not crawling yet but is VERY fast at rolling to get where he wants to be. The doctor said that some children never crawl they use some other type of move to get from point a to point b. He sometimes scoots on his tummy so I am sure it is just a matter of days before he crawls. The days are gone leaving him in the floor while I get ready in the morning...he has to go in his play pen :).

Food: He is such a good eater! He eats avocados, black beans, pasta, bananas, peas, mac and cheese, broccoli bites that I make from scratch (they are yummy), tilapia, and of course puffs all on his own. I almost have to sneak a bite in between his finger foods with a spoon or he will fight me. I love that he is becoming independent and wanting to do things himself. It also makes me sad because he is growing up so fast!!

Schedule: A great one!! He wakes up around 6:30 to nurse, eats breakfast around 8:00 & loves to share banana's with his GiGi, takes 2 naps a day each about 1 1/2 to 2 hours long, dinner around 7:00, bath time 8:30 and bed time between 9:00 & 9:30. As far as milk, I nurse him in the morning and at night and then he has around 2-3 formula bottles during the day. He is beginning to get very distracted during the morning feeding, but I want to try to nurse him up until he is one if he will allow it. I love having 30-40 minutes with him in the morning, just us, before I have to go to work.

Toys: LOVES them! He is so good at just sitting in the floor and entertaining himself. Matt has started trying to play ball with him and Parker loves it! I think he is secretly trying to plant the "baseball player" in him early :) He also has a basketball net that makes noise when a ball falls through it, I showed him once how it worked and the other night he was doing it!! It is crazy how much babies soak in...so fast!

Above is the clapper my Mom bought him at the dollar store and screams when I take it away. It was my "bait" for these pictures to get him to look at me ;) Best $1 ever spent!

Parker has now been with us for 18 months, if you count the 9 months he was in my tummy. Words cannot express how much we love this little guy. God truly blessed us when he gave us our Mr. P. He makes me smile everyday!! I can't believe in 3 short months he will be ONE!! Mommy & Daddy love you very much Parker, and we thank God for you everyday!
Happy 9 months!

Random February Pictures

My birthday was February 8th and I had to work that day, so while Parker was with his GiGi he made me this sign ;). He liked it so much he wanted to eat it!

My Mom and Dad sent me these beautiful flowers to my office...it made my day! That night Matt took me on a date to Houlihan's in the Highlands while Parker stayed with my parents. It was a great birthday (my last one in my 20's)...so sad!

My little Cowboy! We played dress up one day.

Mr. P during his bath time...he loves his baths! He likes to play how many toys can I fit in my tub game :)

Parker eating his pasta-pick-ups. He would MUCH rather feed himself now instead of me feeding him. He thinks he is such a big boy now and likes to make messes!

Mardi Gras Trip to Alabama!

President's Day weekend we took a road trip to Alabama with the Ferrell's. They go every year for the Mardi Gras parades, so we decided to go and experience the fun ourselves! Even though it was a long drive to Fairhope, Alabama we did have a good time! It was such a cute little town and the parades they put on were awesome! It is very kid oriented and I can't wait until Parker is old enough to experience the fun himself. This time Mom and Dad had fun catching the goods for our little guy ;). They threw candy, beads, and tons of stuffed animals! We ate at a really good Oyster restaurant while we were there and just hung out watching the Olympics. It was a good relaxing weekend!

Here is Matt with only 1/2 the beads we caught...they were thrown at us by the bag full!!

Mommy and Mr. P...it was SO COLD but luckily it wasn't snowing!

Snow in Texas...Again!!

The past two times we have left for vacation, Texas has had a snow storm...bizarre!! This time it was ALOT of snow. Luckily we got out of Texas and Louisiana before it got too bad. Here are a few pictures of the Beagles playing in the snow before we left...they loved it!

Rolo loving the snow!

I couldn't get them to come in the house that morning!

Our poor tree...I am sure it's on the ground by now. I don't think it could handle the 12 inches of snow this time. I am curious to see the damage when we get home. I hope we don't have to empty our freezer and refrigerator!
