A day with friends...

Before I tell you about our day out look how these two cuties have grown!! The first picture Parker is 2 weeks and Audrey is 3 months and the 2ND picture Parker is 2 months and Audrey 5 months. My how time flies!!

Wednesday afternoon my Mom, me, Parker, Amanda, Audrey and Linda all went to Granbury for the day to shop around the square. It was such a fun day. They had all kinds of neat little shops and restaurants at the downtown square. The kids did great and we had so much fun showing them off too! ;)

Southbound 35!

This past weekend Parker and I took a road trip to Austin to visit Heather and Brooks. Parker did great in the car. He pretty much just slept the whole time. Heather and I had so much fun just relaxing and watching our boys. We can't wait for the day to where they can actually interact with each other! It was just the "get away trip" I needed before going back to work next Monday.
Parker watching his first Baby Einstein video with Brooks
I wanted to see how well Parker could hold his head up in the exersaucer...he did pretty good for a few minutes.
Brooks showing Parker how it works. Brooks loves baby Parker!
We also were able to meet up with Ashley at Iguana Grill on the lake for lunch! It was so bright outside that is why the pictures are kind of blue.

Parker finally meeting his Aunt Ashley!

Heather and Brooks...I love this picture of them!

Parker is 2 months old!!

Parker turned 2 months old on Wednesday! He is growing so fast it's unbelievable! He had his 2 month checkup today and the doctor said he is doing great. He weighs 12 lbs 10 oz and is 24 1/4 inches long. He is starting to recognize my voice and Matt's voice as we walk into a room. He is smiling a lot more, which I can't get enough of!! I have been trying to stay home more during the day to soak in all I can of him before I go back to work ;(. I know he will be in wonderful hands but it is still going to be hard to leave him every morning. Coming home to his smile every night will be the best part of my day!!

Parker's doctors office has a very cute waiting room so we snapped a few pictures!

The April, May and June babies meet!

Has anyone heard of Calvert, TX? Well it does exist! Ha! Emily, Sarah, Olivia and I met on Saturday afternoon so we could introduce the babies to each other ;)! It was exactly halfway between Houston and Dallas so we could make it a day trip. This nice lady Sandy, allowed us to use the downstairs of her bed and breakfast so we could visit and feed our babies. Calvert is more of a pass through town to get to College Station however, they did have a pretty good restaurant called Wooden Spoon, which is where we ate. It was fun to catch up and spend the afternoon with my college friends. We will have to do it more often so the babies can become friends too!!
Our pose we did when we were pregnant...now we have our little ones ;) Caleb (12 weeks), Parker (8 weeks) and Annabel (4 weeks).

Annabel didn't like being in between the boys!

It got really hot when we went out for lunch so when we got back we stripped the babies of their clothes. They will probably kill us when they are older!

Parker and Annabel had had enough...time to go home!

Breastfeeding

I started reading this book called "Unbuttoned". It is a book filled with women's feelings and perspectives on breastfeeding. It has inspired me to write my own thoughts and feelings about it.

About a year before we found out we were having a baby I had decided that breastfeeding probably wasn't something I was going to do. I had talked to Mom's that bottle fed and how they could share their nightly duties with their husbands, they could go out whenever they wanted without worry of having to come home in 2 hours to feed, etc. I thought to myself that would be the best thing for me because I am always on the go. I am the kind of person that does not like to be home day after day, and when I am at home I am always doing something. I can never just sit still. My other concern was how big my breast where going to get. I already have big breast as it is so it scared me for what I was in for.

When we found out we were having a baby my husband expressed his feelings about breastfeeding and told me he would at least like for me to "try" it. He said after you try it and then you decided you don't like it then you can go to bottles. I thought about what he said and decided to "try" it...however, it is free!
The day Parker was born he immediately started giving me the "cues" of a hungry baby...something I have never seen before. I guess over the years of being around babies I never noticed how they "tell" you they are hungry! I think that is just amazing! At first he did have trouble latching on and I became worried. I cried and cried thinking I was starving my baby. I was just praying that he would eventually eat! After many sessions with the lactation nurse, a nipple shield for two weeks and long hours of nursing...Parker finally caught on!!

He is now 7 weeks old and is a pro at breastfeeding. I can give him one to two bottles a day of breast milk and then go back to breastfeeding and he still does great. Seeing how breastfeeding calms and soothes him just makes makes me happy. There is something about knowing your baby needs you to survive. No one in the world but you can make him satisfied and happy. I am so thankful it is working for us so far and I hope and pray it continues as I go back to work.

All those thoughts I had before about breastfeeding are in the past and it's just apart of our everyday routine now and for that I am thankful!

July 4th weekend!

We went on our first road trip as 3 this past weekend. Keirstin and Tony (my brother and sister in law) own a lake house on Cedar Creek Lake. We drove down on Friday afternoon and bought some fireworks on the way. Parker did great in the car!! Basically all weekend we relaxed, ate great food, rode jet skis, took a sunset cruise on the boat and fished. We had a blast hanging out with the family!! Trevor, Kenzie and Sloane loved helping with Parker too! It was a great way to spend the 4Th of July!
